Christmas Pictures
We took the girls to JCPenney a few weeks ago to get our family Christmas picture. Here is a link to the photos: https://www.smilesbywire.com/home.asp?AC=LTPP0358115280JCP type Christina Doughman in the name line. It's nothing special but you can read on if you want to know more.
I normally go to JCPenney as we have a membership - meaning there are no sitting fees- and they send coupons regularly for a free 8x10. I know that I will usually have to wait even though I have made an appointment and this time was no different. Our appointment was for 9:30am as this is during Sofia's awake/happy time; we weren't seen until 10:45. That upset me a little but what was really frustrating is that the photographer seemed rushed. I know they were running behind but she would take one snap per pose...this doesn't work with a toddler and an infant. When I made the appointment I made them aware that I wanted family holiday shots as well as Sofia's newborn shots, and this was indicated on her paper, but once we were done with the few holiday shots she was ready to move on to the next person. I told her I had requested to have the newborn shots done and she obliged but continued in a rushed manner. I guess I will try and get one of the first appointments of the day in the future.

One Month Check Up
Sofia had her one month check up yesterday. The Dr. was impressed with her weight gain and growth. She now weighs in at 9 pounds 11 ounces and is 22 inches long. She continues to be gassy; but is starting to really take to her schedule. She eats every 4 hours during the day and has gone as many as 7 hours in the night, the normal is 5 hours though. She has become much more responsive in the last few days....smiling and following noises. All in all she is healthy and happy....I am blessed!

Linnea the Cow

The cow says "Moo"

We didn't go trick or treating this year but will probably venture out next year. Instead, I took the girls to Chris's office for reverse trick or treating (we gave out the candy), I did this last year with Linnea. This was also Sofia's first trip to Daddy's office.

We had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and then went to Uncle Steve and Aunt Emily's to show the costumes to Emily's siblings. They shared some great news with us...they are expecting! Linnea and Sofia will have a cousin in the area....we are so excited for the two of you, and can't wait to meet the little one!
The Big Sister
Linnea is a great big sister to Sofia and a great help to Mommy. Linnea loves to hug and kiss Sofia. She also enjoys holding her, this last about 10 seconds and then she says "All Di", better translated "all done". She enjoys helping me take care of Sofia and is eager to throw her dirty diapers away for me.

Linnea has also enjoyed playing with all the baby toys again...now we just have to keep her from breaking them. She has really taken to her baby doll and cares for it like I care for Sofia. The doll gets regular pretend diaper changes, rides in the swing, a blankie, and Nuk. It is great to see what a great nurturer she is becoming, when Sofia starts crying she tells me she needs a Nuk...too cute.

She seems to have grown up so much over the last month, truth be told she's not a baby anymore.

A month?!
Sofia is one month old! It is hard to believe at times that a month has already past. For the most part things are going really well, other than the daily battles with gas and fussiness.
Sofia eats about every 4 hours during the day and has gone up to 7 hours in the night. There are times that I have to wake her up to eat during the day as it has been 5 hours since she last ate! We are going to the doctor next week for her check up and I am going to have to ask what is the minimum number of times she should be eating in a day...probably not a question she gets asked too often.

The Rest of the Story...
Well as Paul Harvey would say, "and now it is time for the rest of the story..." This summer has come to a close, and you may be wondering what else we spent our time doing so here is the recap.
Parky's Farm
We took Linnea to Parky's Farm a few times this summer as she is in love with animals...especially farm animals! Parky's Farm is run by the county park district...they have many animals as you can see...but no cows!

Corn on the Cob!

She has grown up so fast!

Yum - Yum!
Wisconsin Trip
We ventured to Wisconsin to celebrate my Grandpa's 80th birthday in July. It was a great time spent with family and friends. Linnea loved walking all over the place and was always eager to see the cows...she wasn't too sure about facial hair though.
Family Camp
We once again traveled to the far North for a week of fun and relaxation. Linnea was in love with the freedom she was given and walked or ran all over the place...Thanks Mom and Dad for all your chasing! Linnea also loved the sand and water...oh, and I dare not forget Old Jake...well after the first encounter!
We journeyed to Mackinac Island for out day again this year. We knew Linnea would love the horses and there are plenty of places for a pregnant woman to sit and relax. It was a great day with family.
Fun Videos as well!

The Last 3.5 Months!
Linnea is almost 16 months.... at her 15 month well check she weighed in at a whooping 19 pounds 10 ounces, so she is under the 10 %ile now. She continues to grow and is now 31 inches, 75-90 %ile. Her doc is not at all concerned with her growth as she continues to eat well and is a very active little girl. She remains sitting backwards in the car; but should be turning around shortly. She is a bundle of fun and excitement.
Baby #2....still deciding on a name, so feel free to give suggestions....is a GIRL! This pregnancy has been as problem free as my last to this point...we pray that continues. Dr. visits are pretty uneventful other than Linnea crying while they get the baby's heart rate. The next visit is the blood glucose test. Hooray for orange pop, just kidding!
