The Rest of the Story...

Well as Paul Harvey would say, "and now it is time for the rest of the story..." This summer has come to a close, and you may be wondering what else we spent our time doing so here is the recap.

Parky's Farm
We took Linnea to Parky's Farm a few times this summer as she is in love with animals...especially farm animals! Parky's Farm is run by the county park district...they have many animals as you can see...but no cows!

Corn on the Cob!

She has grown up so fast!

Yum - Yum!

Wisconsin Trip

We ventured to Wisconsin to celebrate my Grandpa's 80th birthday in July. It was a great time spent with family and friends. Linnea loved walking all over the place and was always eager to see the cows...she wasn't too sure about facial hair though.

Family Camp

We once again traveled to the far North for a week of fun and relaxation. Linnea was in love with the freedom she was given and walked or ran all over the place...Thanks Mom and Dad for all your chasing! Linnea also loved the sand and water...oh, and I dare not forget Old Jake...well after the first encounter!
We journeyed to Mackinac Island for out day again this year. We knew Linnea would love the horses and there are plenty of places for a pregnant woman to sit and relax. It was a great day with family.

Fun Videos as well!

The Last 3.5 Months!

Linnea is almost 16 months.... at her 15 month well check she weighed in at a whooping 19 pounds 10 ounces, so she is under the 10 %ile now. She continues to grow and is now 31 inches, 75-90 %ile. Her doc is not at all concerned with her growth as she continues to eat well and is a very active little girl. She remains sitting backwards in the car; but should be turning around shortly. She is a bundle of fun and excitement.

Baby #2....still deciding on a name, so feel free to give suggestions....is a GIRL! This pregnancy has been as problem free as my last to this point...we pray that continues. Dr. visits are pretty uneventful other than Linnea crying while they get the baby's heart rate. The next visit is the blood glucose test. Hooray for orange pop, just kidding!

We're Alive!

Some of you may have been wondering what we have been up to...so where do I begin!

Well lets start in the kitchen. Chris and I set out to paint the kitchen at the end of January in hopes of having it completed for Linnea's birthday in February. We patched up some problem areas, took off the cabinet doors, took out the drawers, and pushed all of the appliances and furniture to the center of the room, and thus it stayed for about two weeks! We had to go a little out of order with the painting as Chris was still working on the ceiling patch, so we started with the walls. We then moved on to the cabinets and trim...it is livable at this point but there is still a good amount of work to be done.

Linnea's birthday was February 6th we celebrated with dinner out and her free scoop of ice cream from Graeter's. She really enjoyed the ice cream, even if it was only vanilla. We then went to church for the Ash Wednesday service. We had a family birthday party on Saturday the 9th. Chris's parents, grandma, and brother, and my mom and two foreign exchange students joined us for a pizza dinner....it was Linnea's first experience with pizza and LaRosa's for that matter. The rest of Chris's relatives then came for cat cake and ice cream....and of course presents! Lets just say we are going to need to finish the basement just to house all of Linnea's things. It was a great celebration of Linnea's first year of life.

Linnea also had her 12 month check up during which she weighed in at 17 pounds 15.5 ounces and she is 29.5 inches long. She has four teeth at the moment and three more ready to come through. She is a happy, healthy one year old.

Sunday after church Linnea and I traveled back to Wisconsin with my Mom for a visit. Despite all the horrible talk about road conditions they were in really good shape. While in Wisconsin we were able to visit with my grandparents and sisters. We spent the day Monday with Grandma and visited Grandpa at the rehab center (broken hip). Tuesday we spent the day with Ellen and got to have dinner with Uncle Dan...we also took Linnea out in the snow for the first time. She went sledding in a box and made her first snow angel.

We came home on Wednesday via Skybus. It was Linnea's first time on an airplane and she did great...many of the other passengers interacted with her during the flight and she loved it! Linnea was so happy to see Daddy at the airport! We came from about 6+ feet of snow to a little more than a dusting in Ohio...but we are glad to be home.
